I had always wondered before my mission, why do we go to church? We have the scriptures, and we have prayer as ways to communicate with God. We have so many tools that we can use to bring ourselves closer to God! Why, then, do we have buildings and so many meetings?
That's a good question.
Firstly, keeping the Sabbath Day holy is a commandment of God.
However, as well, God has promised us that when we assemble ourselves together, His Spirit will be poured out upon us. Our church meetings are a time of personal revelation! When you come, come with an open heart that is ready to feel and learn, and it will be filled!
Doctrine and Covenants 44:2
2 And it shall come to pass, that inasmuch as they are faithful, and exercise faith in me, I will pour out my Spirit upon them in the day that they assemble themselves together.

Thank-you! - November 22, 2013
This week, Sister Cazier and I have been studying about giving thanks. We found that to give thanks to God through words isn't enough! We need to LIVE gratitude, and be thankful for all that we have. Like the prophet Alma said, we need to let all our thoughts be directed unto the Lord. This way we are giving thanks to God even when we are not saying the word "thanks."

36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.

The purpose of our efforts on the internet? Many people are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it. Before, it was hard to find it, but now it is almost difficult NOT to find it! come, and learn with us, and invite others to do the same.
